Bee farm + honey economy on DonutSMP — how to harvest, what sells, ROI.
Underrated farm: bees. Honey blocks have constant demand on DonutSMP for redstone builds, honey bottles cure poison, and honeycomb is required for wax + copper antioxidation. Easy to AFK if you set it up right.
| Setup | Honey bottles/hr | Honeycomb/hr |
|---|---|---|
| 4 nests basic | 30-50 | 60-100 |
| 8 nests optimized | 70-120 | 140-220 |
| 16-nest farm | 150-250 | 300-450 |
| Item | Where | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Honey bottle | /sell | 6 coins |
| Honeycomb | /order | 12-18 coins |
| Honey block (crafted) | /order | 35-50 coins |
| Honeycomb block (4 honeycomb) | /order | 60-80 coins |
| Wax bucket (for copper) | direct trade | rare, valuable |
Bulk play: craft to honey blocks before selling — biggest multiplier.
Copper-using players need honeycomb to wax their copper builds (prevents oxidation). Builders running copper-themed bases buy honeycomb in bulk constantly.
Bee farms pair well with:
Initial cost: 4 silk touch picks + flowers + dispensers + redstone. ~3-5k coins. Return: ~5-15k coins per hour AFK depending on scale. Payback time: 1-2 hours of AFK.
Can I farm without silk touch? Yes if you stay in render of natural nests and use shears for honeycomb. But you can't move the nests = limited to wild spawns.
How does the smoker / campfire work? Place campfire ON FIRE below the nest. Smoke must reach the nest. Use trapdoor above to contain smoke if needed.
Do honey blocks sell faster than ingots? Different market. Honey block buyers are redstone engineers and bouncy-pad builders. Steady but smaller volume than iron buyers.
