DonutSMP Account for Sale — Risks, Sources, Safe Buying

Buying a DonutSMP account — risks, scams, safe sources, and what to verify before paying.

Buying an established DonutSMP account (with coins, gear, or playtime already on it) can save months of grinding. It can also get you scammed or banned. Here's everything to know before paying.

Why people buy accounts

  • Skip the new-player grind — established account = instant gear + coins
  • Get a banned account back — alt to keep playing if main is suspended
  • Access aged accounts for shop delivery (less suspicious to anti-RWT systems)

Note: we don't sell accounts at Donut Depot — only coins, Elytras, and Skeleton Spawners. This guide is general advice if you're shopping elsewhere.

The real risks

1. Account recovery scams. Seller transfers the account, gives you credentials, you log in, you play for a week — then the seller's "Microsoft account ownership" claim recovers the account back. You lose everything.

2. Banned accounts being sold. Some sellers dump accounts they know are flagged. You buy, login, get banned within days. No refund.

3. Stolen accounts. Account was hijacked from real owner. They eventually file recovery. Yours gets taken.

4. Fake claims of playtime/items. Seller says "1B coins on account!" — you log in, account is empty.

What to verify before paying

Use this 8-point checklist:

  • ✅ Seller provides full Microsoft account email + password + recovery info
  • ✅ Seller demonstrates account contents via live screen share (shows actual /balance, /ah listings, inventory)
  • ✅ Account is not currently signed-in elsewhere
  • ✅ Microsoft account has 2FA disabled or the seller provides 2FA setup details
  • ✅ Recovery email + phone number can be changed to yours immediately
  • ✅ Seller's track record (reviews, vouches on a trusted marketplace)
  • Payment via escrow (PlayerAuctions, marketplaces with buyer protection)
  • Account age — older accounts (1+ year on Microsoft) are safer than fresh ones

Where to actually buy

Ranked by safety:

🥇 PlayerAuctions — full escrow, dispute resolution, verified sellers. Most expensive but safest.

🥈 Established Discord sellers — vetted in big trading communities. Get vouches before paying.

🥉 Reddit /r/MinecraftMarket — community vouches, but no escrow. Risky.

❌ Random Discord DMs — almost always scams.

❌ eBay listings — TOS-banned, often stolen.

After purchase — lock it down

The MOMENT you receive the account:

  1. Change Microsoft password
  2. Change recovery email to yours
  3. Change recovery phone to yours
  4. Enable 2FA (use authenticator app, not SMS)
  5. Sign out of all sessions
  6. Log into Minecraft with new credentials to claim ownership

If the seller resists any of these changes or asks you to "wait a few days," it's a scam.

Donut Depot's alt account note

We use clean alts for delivery — these are accounts WE bought and own. We don't sell alts. If you need an alt for personal use (warming up before joining the main, or holding inventory), we recommend buying from PlayerAuctions and following the lock-down checklist above.

Frequently Asked

Is buying an account against DonutSMP TOS? Technically yes (most Minecraft servers ban account transfer in TOS). In practice, the server can't detect it unless someone reports you. Risk is low but non-zero.

What if the account gets banned after I buy it? You're out the money. Always check ban history before buying.

How much do established DonutSMP accounts cost?

  • New-ish (10-30 days playtime, basic gear): $10-25
  • Mid (months old, some coins/spawners): $50-150
  • Whale-tier (1B+ coins, full base, spawners): $300+

Can I buy an account that's already on DonutSMP? Yes — just verify the previous owner can no longer access it after transfer.
