DonutSMP Best Enchants for PvP — Optimal Stack

What enchants should be on your DonutSMP PvP gear? Here's the optimal stack used by top players.

Sword (Netherite)

• Sharpness V ✅ — required, base damage
• Unbreaking III ✅ — durability
• Mending ✅ — repair via XP
• Sweeping Edge III ✅ — group damage (factions)
• Fire Aspect II ❌ — situational, often skipped
• Knockback II ❌ — useful for escaping but reduces combo damage

Recommended stack: Sharpness V + Unbreaking III + Mending + Sweeping Edge III

Chestplate (Netherite)

• Protection IV ✅ — required
• Unbreaking III ✅
• Mending ✅
• Thorns III ⚠️ — controversial; reflects damage but eats durability

Recommended: Protection IV + Unbreaking III + Mending. Skip Thorns.

Helmet (Netherite)

• Protection IV ✅
• Respiration III ✅ — underwater fights
• Aqua Affinity ✅ — underwater speed
• Unbreaking III + Mending ✅

Recommended: full stack — all 5 enchants stack on helmet.

Leggings (Netherite)

• Protection IV ✅
• Unbreaking III + Mending ✅
• Swift Sneak III — situational (sneak-walking faster)

Recommended: Protection IV + Unbreaking III + Mending

Boots (Netherite)

• Protection IV ✅
• Feather Falling IV ✅ — required for crystal explosions
• Depth Strider III ✅ — water mobility
• Soul Speed III — situational
• Unbreaking III + Mending ✅

Recommended: Protection IV + Feather Falling IV + Depth Strider III + Unbreaking III + Mending

Bow (backup weapon)

• Power V ✅
• Punch II ✅
• Infinity ✅ — never run out of arrows
• Unbreaking III + Mending ✅

Recommended: full stack.

Crystal placement

Crystals aren't enchanted but make sure you carry enough:

• 2 stacks of End Crystals minimum
• 2 stacks of Obsidian for placement

Totem of Undying

Not enchantable. Just carry:

• 1 in offhand (active)
• 2-3 in inventory (backup)

Where to get enchanted gear

Three paths:

1. Trade with librarian villagers — find one with Mending book, more with Unbreaking III, Prot IV. Time-consuming.
2. Anvil-combine your own — gather books from grinding, combine on anvil.
3. Buy pre-enchanted from Donut Depot — fully enchanted Elytra is the most common bought item. We don't currently sell full kits but they're available on /ah.

Common enchant mistakes

• ❌ Putting Thorns on chestplate (kills your own armor)
• ❌ Skipping Feather Falling IV on boots (you die to your own crystals)
• ❌ Using Sharpness V instead of Power V on bow (wrong tool)
• ❌ Missing Mending anywhere (you'll constantly re-enchant)

Frequently Asked

Can I have Sharpness V AND Smite V? No — they conflict. Pick Sharpness for PvP (works against all mobs + players).

Is Curse of Vanishing useful? No — opposite of useful for PvP (item disappears on death). Avoid.

What about Frost Walker boots? Niche — only useful for ice biome PvP. Generally skip.

Best mob to grind for Mending books? Librarian villagers — much faster than chests.
