DonutSMP bounty system — how to hunt, collect, and not become the target.
DonutSMP's bounty system lets any player put a coin reward on another player's head. The reward goes to whoever kills the target. Here's how to use it offensively, defensively, and strategically.
To place a bounty:
/bounty <player> <amount>
Your coins are locked into the bounty pool. Any player who kills the target collects the full bounty.
To view active bounties:
/bounties
Shows the list of players with active bounties on them, sorted by total bounty pool.
To collect a bounty: Just kill the target player in PvP. The bounty auto-pays to your account on confirmed kill.
Petty revenge — Someone killed you, lost your kit, won't return it. Place a bounty equal to your lost gear value. Skilled bounty hunters chase them down.
Strategic targeting — You want a rival faction leader dead. Crowdsource the hit by placing a big bounty.
Server drama — Famous players sometimes have bounties pooled by their haters. Becomes a meta-game.
Low-tier bounties (10M-50M coins):
Mid-tier (50M-500M):
Top-tier (500M+):
Don't piss people off:
Play camouflaged:
Stay in safe zones:
Bounties create a "Robin Hood" effect on the server economy. Whales who hoard items become targets. Their coins eventually redistribute to skilled PvP hunters.
If you're rich, factor bounty risk into your behavior. Don't antagonize people unless you're ready to fight off the hits.
Some players make bounty hunting their main income. The strategy:
A skilled bounty hunter can clear 500M-1B/week from bounties alone.
Smart bounty placement:
Bad bounty placement:
Can I place bounty on myself? Mostly no — server doesn't allow self-bounties.
What happens if no one collects? Bounty stays open indefinitely. Some bounties have been "live" for months.
Can I cancel a bounty? Usually not — once placed, the coins are committed.
Is bounty hunting profitable? For skilled PvPers, yes. For casuals, no — you'll feed your kit to better players.
