DonutSMP iron farm guide — setup, yields, profit. Iron from villagers + golems.
Iron is one of the most useful resources on DonutSMP — for armor, tools, /order demand, and selling. An iron farm produces it on demand. Here's how to build one.
Iron Golems spawn near villages to "protect" villagers. If you create artificial village conditions (3+ villagers near workstations), Iron Golems will spawn periodically.
Kill them = Iron Ingots. Lots of iron.
1. Iron Golem Spawner farm — Use a pre-bought Iron Golem spawner ($2.99 at Donut Depot). Drops iron + poppies + occasional gear. ~8-15M coins/hour. Setup guide →
2. Vanilla villager-based iron farm — Use real villagers to trigger natural Iron Golem spawns. Higher setup cost, harder to build, but doesn't require a purchased spawner. Free iron forever.
The "scary zombie" trick: place a zombie in a 1-block sealed room with glass so the villagers can see it. Their panic = Iron Golem spawns.
Wait that's low. The vanilla farm is mostly for personal use, not income.
For income, use the purchased Iron Golem spawner — 10x the yield.
Skip the vanilla farm. Buy a spawner. The spawner version:
ROI: Pays itself off in 3-6 hours of operation.
Best play: convert to Iron Blocks for bulk listings, sell at /order.
Demand is steady — your iron will always sell.
Can I move villagers easily? Yes — use boats. Place villager in boat, push boat to destination, break boat.
What's the best biome to grab villagers? Plains village (easiest), Desert village (close second).
Why don't more players use spawner farms? Cost: 150M coins on /ah or $2.99 from us. Beginners don't have either. But that's the gap to bridge.
Can I stack multiple iron farms? Yes — each in a separate chunk for full spawn rate.
