Warzone PvP tactics — kits, positioning, totem play, and common counters.
The Warzone is DonutSMP's open-PvP arena. It's where most players grind shards, test gear, and meet violent ends. Winning consistently comes from a few specific habits.
Entering without this = free loot for someone else.
Most Warzone deaths happen because of bad positioning, not slow reflexes. Top 5 positional rules:
When your totem pops, you have ~0.6 seconds of invulnerability and an HP refill. Use it to:
Pro players "double-pop" — burn 2 totems in a row to reset positioning. Costs 200k but saves a 12M kit.
End crystals do up to 12 damage in a 12-block radius. Place on obsidian, hit with anything → explode.
Standard combo:
Counter: enemy places their own crystal next to yours, both detonate, mutual damage. Crystal PvP becomes a race of who-places-first.
| Mistake | Counter |
|---|---|
| Engaging at low HP | Always start fights at 20/20 + golden apple buff |
| Missing crystal placements | Practice in single-player creative |
| Wearing your only good kit | Bring backups, expect to lose |
| Solo-ing in group zones | Stick to 1v1 areas if you're alone |
Killing players in Warzone drops 10 shards per kill. Shards buy spawners (~30 shards each at the shard shop). 100 Warzone kills = ~3 spawners.
Can I PvP without spending real money? Yes — but you'll lose your kit a few times learning. Budget 5-10 deaths before you're competent.
What client do top players use? Lunar Client or Badlion — both legal on DonutSMP. Crystal PvP modules help (hitbox highlight, crystal indicator).
Worth buying a kit vs grinding one? Time-cost: ~30 hours grinding a full Crystal kit. Or ~12M coins ($1.20 from Donut Depot) to buy it. Math is obvious for most.
