Zombie-to-drowned conversion farm — get tridents on DonutSMP without ocean diving.
Tridents are one of the rarest weapons in DonutSMP and sell for serious coin (~80k each on /order). A drowned trident farm gives you 1-3 tridents per hour AFK if built right.
Natural drowned have only a 6.25% chance of spawning with a trident, and only 8.5% of those drop it on death. That's roughly 0.5% per kill — terrible math.
The fix: zombie-to-drowned conversion farms don't have tridents naturally. You need NATURAL ocean-spawned drowned for tridents.
River biomes have high drowned spawn rates with natural trident chance preserved. Build a deep-water spawn area + kill chamber.
Yield: 1-3 tridents/hr with Looting III.
Drop zombies into water 30+ seconds → they convert. But conversion-drowned don't drop tridents. Only useful for copper, nautilus shells, fish.
Don't build this. Hasn't worked since 1.19 changes.
| Yield | Per hour AFK | Per 8-hour session |
|---|---|---|
| Tridents | 1-3 | 8-20 |
| Copper ingots | 50-90 | 400-700 |
| Nautilus shells | 5-12 | 40-90 |
| Rotten flesh | tons | tons |
| Trident type | Where | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Plain trident | /order | 60-90k |
| Loyalty III trident | /order | 180-250k |
| Riptide III trident | /order | 250-350k |
| Channeling trident | /order | 200-300k |
Pro tip: save 30 levels for enchantment table, throw rolls on plain tridents. One good roll can 4× your income.
Copper ingots are slept-on. They sell for ~25 coins each on /order, and stacks of cut copper / lightning rods sell to builders. A drowned farm produces 50+ copper per hour as a free side income.
Why don't converted drowned drop tridents? Vanilla mechanic. Only naturally spawned drowned can roll a trident.
Can I just buy a trident? Yes. Tridents are listed in our shop. Saves you 20+ hours of farming.
Best biome for the farm? River > Swamp > Beach > Ocean. River has highest drowned spawn rate.
