Heart of the Sea is the rarest ocean drop in Minecraft and only has one use: crafting a Conduit. Worth understanding even if you only ever want to buy one.

Where Heart of the Sea comes from

ONE source only: buried treasure chests found via Treasure Maps. Treasure maps come from:

Cartographer villagers (master level, 13 emerald trade)
Shipwreck chests (random loot pool)

The buried treasure hunt

Get a treasure map (cartographer or shipwreck)
Open the map → follow the X mark
Bring shovel — treasure is buried 1-3 blocks deep in sand/gravel
Each chest contains EXACTLY 1 Heart of the Sea

The cartographer farm strategy

For dedicated treasure-map farming:

Capture 4-6 unemployed villagers near a coast
Place cartographer tables, level them
Trade for treasure maps repeatedly
Run all maps in batched trips (saves travel time)

Costs ~52 emeralds per map. Each map = 1 Heart of the Sea.

Common mistakes

❌ Buying treasure maps from non-master cartographers (wrong trades)
❌ Forgetting a shovel (treasure buried under sand requires it)
❌ Selling raw Hearts instead of crafted Conduits (leaves 50k/heart on the table)
❌ Skipping the nautilus shell side-farm (you need them for Conduits anyway)
