The Elytra is the single biggest mobility upgrade in DonutSMP. Three ways to get one in 2026, ranked by time and money cost.
An Elytra is the single biggest mobility upgrade in DonutSMP. Once you have one — especially a fully enchanted one with Mending and Unbreaking III — the entire server opens up. Scouting bases, dodging stacked PvP, crossing thousands of blocks to hit auctions before anyone else.
Here's every way to get one, ranked by time and money cost.
End Cities spawn on the outer End islands. They contain Elytras (rare) and shulker boxes (always).
What you need:
Steps:
Realistic time investment: 15-40 hours of preparation and exploration. Most DonutSMP players never get one this way because someone else loots the same End Cities first.
In-game auction prices for Elytras in 2026:
At Donut Depot's $0.10/M rate, that's $32-$48 worth of coins.
Steps:
/ah in-gameThis is faster than End City raiding but you still need the coins.
This is the route most players actually take. Why? Because the prep alone for an End City raid takes longer than working a part-time shift, and a fully enchanted Elytra costs $54.99 at Donut Depot.
What you get:
How delivery works:
donutsmp.net and hand it over in-gameDelivery is under 5 minutes. You go from no Elytra to fully enchanted Elytra in your inventory before your tea cools.
A stock Elytra has 432 durability. That's maybe 5-10 long flights before it shatters mid-air. Then you're paying a phantom membrane every time you want to repair it.
Mending + Unbreaking III is the only setup worth bothering with. With Mending, you never repair manually again — just pick up XP from killing mobs. With Unbreaking III, you fly 4× as far between repairs anyway. Together = effectively a permanent Elytra.
Even with an Elytra, TPA is faster for in-server travel. Use Elytra for new exploration (finding bases, scouting, crossing biomes for unique drops), TPA for daily logistics.
