How to Get an Elytra on DonutSMP

An Elytra is the single biggest mobility upgrade in DonutSMP. Once you have one — especially a fully enchanted one with Mending and Unbreaking III — the entire server opens up. Scouting bases, dodging stacked PvP, crossing thousands of blocks to hit auctions before anyone else.

Here's every way to get one, ranked by time and money cost.

Method 1 — Loot from an End City (free but brutal)

End Cities spawn on the outer End islands. They contain Elytras (rare) and shulker boxes (always).

What you need:

• Full diamond or netherite armor
• A few stacks of ender pearls
• Slow Falling potions
• Strength potions
• Blocks for emergency MLG
• Trident with Riptide (optional but huge)

Steps:

1. Defeat the Ender Dragon to unlock the End portal
2. Throw ender pearls into the outer islands portal
3. Travel thousands of blocks outward — End Cities are sparse
4. Watch for the floating End Ship — Elytras are in a chest there
5. Drink Slow Falling, navigate the End Ship, grab the Elytra
6. TP home or set spawn before something kills you

Realistic time investment: 15-40 hours of preparation and exploration. Most DonutSMP players never get one this way because someone else loots the same End Cities first.

Method 2 — Buy from the auction house

In-game auction prices for Elytras in 2026:

• Unenchanted: ~$320M coins
• Mending + Unbreaking III: ~$480M coins

Why fully enchanted matters
