Trident on DonutSMP — Where to Get, Cost, & Best Enchants
Trident sourcing, prices, enchantments — what works in DonutSMP 2026.
Tridents are one of the rarest weapons in Minecraft — they don't appear in any structure, can't be crafted, only drop from naturally-spawned drowned. On DonutSMP they're priced premium.
Three ways to get a trident
1. Farm drowned naturally (slowest)
Only 6.25% of drowned spawn with tridents, and only 8.5% drop on kill. You'll farm 2-5 hours per trident average.
2. Trident farm (medium)

3. Buy from the shop (instant)

Best enchantment combos
For PvP (Crystal PvP especially)
- Loyalty III (returns when thrown)
- Impaling V (boss-killer; also works on Endermen and Drowned)
- Unbreaking III + Mending
For travel/mobility
- Riptide III (propels you forward when in water OR rain)
- Unbreaking III
- NOTE: Riptide does NOT work with Loyalty. Pick one or the other.
For boss farming (Wither, Dragon)
- Channeling (lightning strike on hit during thunderstorm)
- Impaling V
- Loyalty III
Riptide pro plays
Riptide-equipped trident in rain = instant 20-block movement. Top PvP players use Riptide III to gap-close in PvP zones during weather events. Pair with Elytra for "rocket-less" flight in rain.
Loyalty trident PvP
In the Warzone, throwing a Loyalty trident at someone is a free 10-damage hit that returns to you. Use during their totem pop animation for guaranteed double-hit.
Common mistakes
- ❌ Combining Loyalty + Riptide (incompatible — wastes 60+ levels)
- ❌ Not enchanting until repaired with Mending (anvil work without prep is expensive)
- ❌ Throwing without Loyalty (you lose your 80k trident if you can't retrieve it)
Frequently Asked
Can tridents be crafted? No. Drowned drops only.
Do they break easily? Default durability 250 — about a week of active PvP. Use Unbreaking III + Mending.
Best trident for a beginner? Plain or Loyalty I. Worry about high-tier rolls when you're rich.
